The World Integrity News Network, (WINN) has uncovered a fake photo of Sandra Bland circulating on the internet. Below is the photo in question.
Upon close examination of the photo we saw so many similarities that we became suspicious. Using PicMonkey, a free online editing tool, we overlaid one photo on top of the other. This is the result.
As can clearly be seen, the photos line up exactly, down to the smallest detail of her hair.
We also ran each photo through FotoForensics, another free online tool. When a photo is edited or altered, the alterations are made up of layers. Each additional layer shows up on the analysis as a lighter portion of the image. As more layers are added, the lighter portions become more distinct. Below is the picture on the right of the original.
Note the analysis shows almost uniform darkness. Next we ran the photo from the left through the same tool. Below is the photo from the left. Note the lighter portions clearly showing that the head and shoulders have been altered.
You can see the original analysis here and here.
It is virtually impossible to take two identical photos of a person standing absolutely still due to the simple fact that we don’t stand still. We constantly adjust our balance. The movement may not be visible to the naked eye, but below is a link to a time lapse video from Getty Images of a woman standing “perfectly still” that illustrates that.
WINN would like to emphasize that this is not an official forensic analysis. The research was conducted entirely by our staff. Who altered the photo and when and why it was altered is not known. It remains indisputable that it has been altered.
WINN staff Sandra Bishop and Rebecca Schradle contributed to this article.

It sure looks that way. What would really be nice is to have a real forensic analysis done by experts.

The mug shots have clearly been tampered with. The shots that were posted earlier this week show a bright clear picture, the first thing that stood out to me were the darkness under her eyes..i do not remember seeing tears …now the bright clear pics are replaced with this faded version… google Texas mugshots and compare the pics posted and ask yourself if the photo quality is the same.

You’re right about that, although a very small part of it could be explained by poor quality computers posting and reposting, but in no possible way does it account for it; the photos have one hundred percent been tampered with, as you said.
